A baby boy born with one foot turned inwards has been fitted with a medical device to correct his club foot so he should not need surgery.
The "boots-and-bar" device was fitted to seven-month-old James Boorah, from Portsmouth, when he was 10 weeks old.
The medical procedure, known as the Ponseti method, should gradually straighten James's foot.
His relieved parents, Simon, 39, and Amanda, said he would have to wear the piece of equipment 23 hours a day.
Mr Boorah said: "Because he is just a baby, it is not too restrictive.
"It means he won't need to go into hospital for an operation which can only be a good thing."
