Road rage victim stabbed in head

The assault followed an argument between the driver of a blue HGV and the driver of a metallic blue Peugeot 307 in a lay-by in Sherfield, Loddon.

The Basingstoke lorry driver, who was treated in hospital, told police he saw the other driver with a knife.

Officers believe the assault followed an earlier incident on the A33 when the lorry driver accidentally "cut-up" the Peugeot at a roundabout.

"Both drivers pulled into the lay-by and a confrontation took place," said Det Con Oliver Lage, from Basingstoke CID.

"The verbal argument became physical, during which the HGV driver felt a pain in the back of his head.

"He then recalls seeing the Peugeot driver heading back towards his car carrying a knife.

"This happened on a busy stretch of road during the middle of the day and I am sure this incident was witnessed by other people."
