Stair death treated as homophobic

Detectives looking into the death of a man whose body was found in a stairwell have said the incident is being treated as homophobic.

Malcolm Bryan, 67, of Fratton, Hampshire, was found with multiple injuries in a block of flats in Lord Street early on 21 September.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail until mid-November.

Officers have been continuing inquiries and are keen to talk to witnesses.
