Girl, 11, kicked in head by horse

An 11-year-old girl had to be flown to hospital after being kicked in the head by her mother's horse.

The child was at Burghley Villa Riding School in Bashley Common Road in New Milton, Hampshire, when the accident happened on Saturday afternoon.

The youngster is being treated in the intensive care unit at Southampton General hospital.

Police, who have now visited Burghley Villa, believe "there was no wrong doing on behalf of the riding school".
