Head suspension decision upheld

Roger Lock

A Gloucestershire headmaster has had his appeal against suspension dismissed by the board of governors.

Roger Lock of Marling School in Stroud was suspended from his position in November 2008 but the county council has refused to reveal why.

"This brings to an end a difficult period," said governor John Gilbert.

Acting head teacher Alyson Mills will remain in her post until the autumn when the search for a new head teacher is expected to begin.
