Man held after microlight crash

A pilot has been arrested after a microlight crashed in the Forest of Dean on Sunday.

The 39-year-old man from Cheltenham was held on suspicion of flying the plane without a licence and flying while over the alcohol limit.

The craft came down at St Briavels Common, near Brockweir, Gloucs, having taken off in Middlesex.

The pilot needed hospital treatment for a leg injury and his passenger, a man from Quedgeley, suffered back pain.

The pilot has been bailed to return to Gloucester police station on 23 June.
