A man who jumped naked from the window of a burning house, leaving the body of his ex-girlfriend, has been jailed indefinitely for her manslaughter.

Matthew Bayle, 24, who killed Louise Hall at her home in Gloucester, was told he would have to serve a minimum term of seven years.

At Bristol Crown Court Mr Justice Royce told Bayle he could face parole in three and a half years.

The judge said Miss Hall's family faced "a life sentence without her".

Miss Hall died after suffering a fractured larynx and bruising around her face, neck and chest.

Throughout the trial and in police interviews, Bayle had maintained he had no recollection of what happened after the pair had sex.
