Fire families still cannot return

Families who were evacuated from their homes after a fire at a nearby industrial estate are not expected to be allowed back until Sunday.

The blaze broke out at Elite Vehicle Services in Cainscross near Stroud, Gloucestershire, on Friday evening.

The area has a 200m cordon around it following fears acetylene gas canisters inside the unit may explode.

About 40 homes and businesses were evacuated and many families stayed with relatives or friends or in hotels.

A handful opted to sleep over night at Stratford Park leisure centre in Stroud.
