Park's lotto bid for revamp cash

Entrance to Pittville Park

A bid has been submitted to the National Lottery for cash to help spruce up a Cheltenham park.

The plans for Pittville Park include creating new activity areas, better access for people with disabilities and improved landscaping.

The Grade II listed park which opened in 1825 is the largest ornamental park in Cheltenham and home to the pump room and lakes.

The project team will know in March 2009 if the bid has been successful.
