Cameron helmet in car boot sale

David Cameron

One of Conservative leader David Cameron's cycling helmets will be up for grabs at an upmarket car boot sale being held in Gloucestershire.

Organisers of the event at Chedworth said other items on sale would include one of actress Liz Hurley's frocks and a cap signed by F1 star Lewis Hamilton.

About 150 car booters are expected to pitch up at the charity event, which aims to raise money for the NSPCC.

Television presenter Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen will launch the sale later.

'Hot pants'

Organisers said a booty of treasures collected from "leading local residents, landed gentry, royalty and celebrity supporters" would be on offer on Sunday at the "UK's poshest car-boot sale".

Other items up for grabs include a cheese made by Blur bassist Alex James and clothes by sought-after designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Ralph Lauren.

The turnout at the sale at Moor Farm is expected to top the 7,000 bargain hunters who visited last year.

Gail Tuke-Hastings, who chairs the NSPCC Cotswolds Fundraising Branch, said: "There will be lots of opportunities to pick up a bargain, including fabulous quality designer clothing.

"We can't promise Kylie Minogue's hot pants from that video, but we're hoping."
