Suspected bug closes trauma ward
A ward at Cheltenham General hospital is likely to be closed for several days after a suspected case of gastroenteritis.
Dixton ward was shut over the weekend and will remain closed to admissions and non-urgent transfers to help prevent the virus from spreading.
Hospital spokesman Steve Peak said it was simply following NHS protocol.
"When you suspect an infection of this sort you limit the number of people admitted or being discharged," he said.
Symptoms of gastroenteritis include diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and drowsiness.
Dixton is a mixed-sex trauma ward with 22 beds.
