University is top on Green League

The University of Gloucestershire has received first class honours for environmental performance, in the Green League.

The academic institution was judged on nine environmental points to receive the top spot in Britian.

As part of its environmental approach, the university used green electricity and recycled waste from its campuses.

Professor Daniella Tilbury said sustainability was at the "heart" of university plans.

"At the University of Gloucestershire we regard the search for sustainability as the biggest issue facing mankind today," she added.
