Boy, 10, quizzed over sex attack

A 10-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl aged four.

The alleged assault took place in the Stroud area in April and was reported by the victim's father, police have confirmed.

The boy, from Stroud, has been bailed until 14 July while police inquires continue.

A 10-year-old can be convicted of a criminal offence if the prosecution can show awareness of wrongdoing.

At the age of 14, a child is considered to be fully responsible for their actions, in the same way as an adult.
