Town burglaries 'may be linked'

Police believe seven break-ins in a Gloucestershire town may be linked.

Officers were called to the incidents involving several premises in the shopping area of Tetbury in the early hours of Thursday.

In four of the burglaries cash and computer equipment was stolen but offenders left empty-handed in the other three, a spokesman said.

Anyone who witnessed the thefts between 0130 and 0830 BST on 10 April is asked to contact police.

Police said the incidents included a bakery, café and shed on Church Street, a pub on Hampton Street, a shop on Chipping Street, a shop on Market Street and a hotel on Long Street.
