Residents warned over cheese wire

Residents of Berkeley are being warned after cheese wire was strung up across the High Street.

The wire was tied to the door handle of a house and attached to a car on the other side of the road at the entrance to Berkeley Castle Drive.

Sergeant Richard Smith said: "This is either malicious or stupid. Whoever is responsible had no thought for anyone."

Police are now appealing for information, saying the wire had the potential to kill.
