Volunteers adopt railway stations

Moreton-in-Marsh has been adopted by Home Farm Trust (HFT) under the new scheme while Stroud station is being helped by Elizabeth Sargeant.

Work carried out at Moreton so far has included new shrubs and flowers being planted. HFT meets every Wednesday to carry out work.

In Stroud, tables have been painted and new display boards created.

Lynn Edginton, First Great Western's regional station manager for Gloucestershire, said: "As part of our Adopt a Station programme we ask local people or organisations to help us to maintain and improve our stations for the benefit of both passengers and the community.

"The groups at Moreton-in-Marsh and Stroud are doing a great job in brightening up the stations and I'm sure everyone who passes through them will appreciate this."
