Six arrested over car-jack attack

Six teenagers have been arrested after a taxi driver was attacked and his vehicle taken in Gloucestershire.

The 33-year-old had pulled into Market Place in Lechlade to pick up a fare, when six people tried to get into the Ford Mondeo taxi on Saturday.

When he said he could only take four, the driver was beaten and his car was stolen. It was later found crashed.

Four boys and two girls aged between 14 and 18 years old were arrested and have been released on police bail.

The taxi driver sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
