Waterways museum to be revamped

Up to 10 jobs will be lost as a waterways museum in Gloucester undergoes a facelift over winter.

The Waterways Trust said the redeveloped National Waterways Museum would open in May 2008.

The museum will close from November, although the Christmas programme will go ahead as planned.

Roger Hanbury, from the trust, said: "We now have an opportunity to refresh and update the museum so it can take its place at the heart of the Docks."

New jobs at the museum are expected to be created next year.
