Long-awaited skate park in sight

Skate boarder Young people in Tetbury are to have a new skate park.

The £25,000 project was jointly funded by grants, donations and the efforts of local youngsters who charged for washing cars.

The scheme, to be sited at the town's recreation ground, will also include a youth shelter and climbing equipment.

Cate Moore, secretary for Provision for Young People in Tetbury (P4YPT), said it had been a positive experience for all the children involved.

"They've helped raise all the money and led the campaign, with help from adult members of the group," she said.

"Children like Luke, for example, have been campaigning for this since he was 8. He's now 18. That level of perseverance should be congratulated."
