A Gloucestershire county councillor who was arrested as part of an ongoing fraud investigation has been released on police bail.
Sean Connors, who represents Brockworth Residents Group, was held on suspicion of corruption and money laundering.
His arrest followed police searches at addresses in Tewkesbury and Brockworth, Southend in Essex and near Warwick.
Police said 46-year-old Mr Connors was released on police bail until 16 March while enquiries continued.
The county council confirmed that Mr Connors was still a councillor with the authority, but said it was unable to comment further while there was an ongoing police investigation.
He is a member of the scrutiny management and audit committee, the community and adult care scrutiny committee and the planning committee.
Mr Connors was also a Tewkesbury borough councillor until last year, when he resigned.
