Motorist dies as car hits bridge

A 28-year-old man died when his car hit a bridge in Gloucestershire and overturned.

Police said the man, who came from Hereford, appeared to lose control of his Renault Clio on the B4213.

The car hit a small brick-built bridge at Lower Apperley, south of Tewkesbury, on Tuesday.

The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact them.
