Mobility scooter crash woman dies

An elderly Essex woman has died after crashing into a car when she was on her mobility scooter.

Betty Byrom, 95, from Saffron Walden, was fatally injured in Audley Road, where she lived, on 6 June.

She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, following the crash but she died there from her injuries on Wednesday.

An Essex police spokeswoman said officers were not appealing for further witnesses to come forward.
