Biker dies as lorry fails to stop

A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a lorry which failed to stop.

The 37-year-old man from Wickford was travelling in the London-bound carriageway of the A127 at Basildon in Essex, when the collision happened.

Essex Police said the lorry driver failed to stop at the scene and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesman said it was thought the lorry had a white cab and a white trailer. The A127 was closed and diversions put in place.
