Boy charged with attempted murder

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a 24-year-old from Essex was stabbed in the chest.

The victim was attacked when his house in Charlton Close, Pitsea, was broken into last Monday, police said.

A 17-year-old boy, from Westcliff, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary.

David Bangura, 18, from Valkyrie Road, Westcliff, was charged with a count of aggravated burglary. The pair are due before Basildon Magistrates' on Monday.

The victim was taken to Basildon Hospital where he was in a stable condition, a police spokesman said.
