Two men held as abduction fails

Two men are being questioned by police investigating an attempted abduction of a 15-year-old girl in Essex.

The incident happened in Church Road, Basildon, on Wednesday morning, and the girl managed to get away after a man failed to bundle her into a car.

The two arrested men, aged 26 and 27, both from Southend, were arrested near the Festival Leisure Park in Basildon.

A third man, aged 31, has been released on police bail until 30 November pending further inquiries.
