A firm responsible for luggage scanning at Stansted airport has pulled out of the contract following a series of pay strikes.
Gate Aviation Services said its baggage screening contract ends on 10 October, but staff will keep their jobs.
The GMB union welcomed the move and said it looked forward to working with the new contractor to settle the row.
Thirty four union members working for Gate went on strike in the summer after rejecting a 2% improved pay offer.
Gate Aviation Services said at that time it was disappointed staff chose "to reject the company's improved pay offer of 2% and a further 2.2% in January 2009".
The union said other workers at Stansted received bigger pay rises.
The workers will keep their jobs under continuation of employment rules after Gate Aviation terminated the contract following a period of notice because it was "untenable", a spokeswoman said.
A new contractor will take over responsibility for scanning luggage after 10 October.
