River hunt continues for teenager

The search for a teenager who went missing while swimming in the Thames Estuary has resumed.

Adunayo Shittu, 18, was dragged under the water by a strong current while swimming off Grays, Essex, on Tuesday.

A police helicopter joined the police marine unit and search and rescue volunteers to scour the area and the search continued on Thursday.

Police divers were drafted in to help, but the marine search was called off in the evening.

A land search would continue on Friday, a police spokeswoman said.
