Man critical after attack at pub

A 48-year-old man is in a critical condition in intensive care after he was attacked outside a pub in Essex.

The victim was assaulted near the car park entrance of the Royal Albion pub, Walton-on-the-Naze, on Tuesday night.

He was taken to Colchester General Hospital before being transferred to Queens Hospital in Romford, where he remains in the intensive care unit.

A 28-year-old man, who has not been named, has been arrested in connection with the attack.

Essex Police have appealed to anyone with witnessed the incident to contact them.
