Man suffers head injury in attack

A 36-year-old man suffered a head injury and a suspected fractured shoulder when he was attacked by a gang of teenagers in Essex.

The victim was walking home from Brentwood railway station when he was set upon by the group in Orchard Avenue, Brentwood, early on Saturday.

He was taken to Romford's Queen's Hospital after relatives later found him collapsed at his home.

The gang of attackers were aged in their mid to late teens, police said.
