Footballer given OBE in honours

Teddy Sheringham West Ham striker and former England star Teddy Sheringham, who lives in Essex, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Mr Sheringham, who lives in Fyfield was given the award for services to football.

He was among 21 people in Essex to receive an honour.

Also receiving an award is Rear Admiral Roy Alexander George Clare, from Essex, the former director for the National Maritime Museum who receives a CBE.

He was given the award for services to museums.
