Robert Redford's Porsche for sale

A rare Vespa

A Porsche cabriolet once owned by Robert Redford and a rare collection of classic cars could fetch up to £750,000 at an auction in Dorset.

Three Aston Martins and a 1931 Morris Minor Tourer will be among the vintage automobiles up for sale in Sherborne Castle's Classic Car show.

"We have an Aston Martin Virage you can eat your dinner off," said Matthew Whitney, from Charterhouse auctioneers.

The sale includes a 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom I expected to fetch £100,000.

Mr Whitney added: "We have some very special entries [including] a Volvo P1800 ES which has been barn stored with birds and vermin for 20 years.

"However, for me, it is the sublime to the ridiculous with a rare 1959 Vespa 400 - one of only six in the country - with its pull back canvas cabriolet roof against the massive 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom I Regent Brewster, but this time with a faux cabriolet roof."

A Wolseley Hornet, a Plymouth Sedan and a Ferrari 308 GTS are also be among the lots.
