Double crash leaves two trapped

Two seriously-injured people had to be freed from the wreckage of a seven-vehicle crash in Dorset.

A man, aged 77, and a woman, aged 73, were freed from one of the vehicles and taken to hospital following the crash on the A338 in Ringwood at 1045 GMT.

Several other people suffered minor injuries in the incident at the Ashley Heath roundabout.

Earlier, two cars collided on the same road, which was closed northbound for several hours after the second crash.

Police have appealed for witness to the accidents to contact them.
