Lapland park website goes offline

The website for a Lapland-style theme park criticised by visitors as "hell" and a "scam" has been shut down.

The Lapland New Forest attraction on the Hampshire-Dorset border closed down on Thursday after it was criticised by hundreds of visitors.

Organisers had directed people to the website for information about obtaining a refund but the domain was cancelled on Friday.

Trading Standards has advised people to contact Consumer Direct.

People should write to the registered address of Lapland New Forest which they can obtain through Consumer Direct.

The firm running the park said it had closed the attraction because of "intentional organised crowd manipulation and event sabotage".

More than 2,000 people who paid £25-£30 for tickets to the park near Ringwood have officially complained about it since it opened last Friday.

Trading Standards and Dorset Police said they were investigating the complaints.
