Woman stabbed in face in fight

A 38-year-old has serious facial injuries after being stabbed in the face in an altercation in Dorset.

She was arrested, along with three other people, after the fight in Ashley Road in Boscombe, Bournemouth, on Tuesday night.

The injured woman was taken to Poole Hospital where she underwent surgery.

Two men, aged 33 and 43, a 26-year-old woman and the 38-year-old were held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

All four were later released on bail while officers continue their inquiries.

Det Con Vanessa Moyle said: "As a result of this incident, a woman sustained very serious injuries and I am very eager to find out exactly what happened.

"This altercation took place very close to the railway bridge on Ashley Road, and as this is a very busy area I believe that several people may have witnessed the event."
