Five rescued from stuck minibus

Firefighters and a farmer rescued five people from a minibus which became stuck in about 1m (3ft) of fast flowing flood waters in Dorset.

The farmer used his tractor to pull the vehicle free from the ford near Springfield Country Hotel, Grange Road, near Wareham, on Saturday night.

The three adults and two children occupants were led to safety unhurt.

A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was a frightening experience for those involved.

He added: "The depth of the water was about 1m (3ft) and the occupants were very concerned.

"Our retained crew were able to make the scene safe.

"It was a team effort with the police and the local farmer so we could gain access to the people in the minibus and get them free without any injuries."
