Three people were rescued from their 30ft (9.14m) yacht which capsized in rough seas off the Dorset coast.

The vessel righted itself and the crew managed to stay onboard after the incident in Portland Race.

A fishing boat towed it to calmer seas before the RNLI lifeboat arrived and a rescuer boarded the yacht.

The vessel was escorted back to land. No-one on board the French yacht was thought to be seriously injured, Portland Coastguard said.

A spokeswoman added: "We had reports the boat capsized but it looks as though everybody managed to stay on board.

"Whether they clambered back from the sea or managed to attach themselves before it went over, we're not sure at this point.

"That stretch of water is very dangerous and fast."
