Sports goods stolen from estate

Sports goods valued at £10,000, including Nike sportswear, have been stolen from a trading estate in Dorset.

Items were taken from Active Sports Kit and the Richmond Cook Shop based at Unit 10, at the Wessex Trade Centre on Ringwood Road in Poole.

The two businesses offer mail order services for kitchenware, cycling and sports clothing including light-weight waterproof tops and arm-warmers.

The thefts happened sometime between 28 December and 31 December.

A LeMond Chambery racing bike with a triple chainset - a large set of cogs at the front of the bike at the pedals - was among the goods taken.

Pc Will Burnett, from Dorset Police, said: "This bike is very rare as I'm told that not many of these bikes are in the UK and even fewer available with a triple set of cogs at the front.

"The clothing that was stolen is also considered to be specialist cycling clothing.

"Whoever is responsible for stealing these items can only hope to sell these on to cycling enthusiasts - and I'm appealing to anyone who cycles to contact me with information about cycle wear for sale at a suspiciously cheap price."
