Crash shuts popular tourist route

A major route in Dorset has been shut following a road accident involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles.

Police are urging drivers to avoid the A338 just south of Ashley Heath while emergency services attend the scene of the crash.

The motorcyclist was taken to Poole General Hospital for treatment.

The road, which is the main route for people travelling to popular beaches in Bournemouth and Poole, has been closed in both directions.
