Crash victim dies from injuries

A pedestrian has died in hospital following a road accident in Devon.

Emergency services were called to South Embankment in Dartmouth at about midnight on Monday following reports a man had been hit by a car.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the accident involved a male pedestrian and a Renault Clio car.

The man was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where he later died. The road has been closed and police have appealed for witnesses.
