A convicted killer has gone on the run after being freed from jail on licence.
Anthony Robson, 36, went missing from a house in Plymouth, Devon, where he was required to live after being released from Dartmoor prison.
He was jailed for nine years for killing Patricia Hughes, 81, who died after a street mugging, and was released after serving six years.
A police spokesman said Robson had refused to return and he would be sent back to prison once arrested.
Robson was jailed in 2003 at Plymouth Crown Court for the manslaughter and robbery of Ms Hughes.
She died in hospital after being attacked by Robson and co-defendant Steven Daw, who received a similar sentence.
Robson was a heroin addict at the time of the killing but is understood to have overcome his addiction during his time in prison.
A police spokesman said: "When arrested he will be sent straight back to prison. He is fully aware of what he has done.
"We have been able to get a message to him and he has refused to return."
The spokesman said Robson did not pose any significant risk to the public but they were keen to learn of his whereabouts as soon as possible.
Robson has friends and family in Plymouth and is thought to still be in the area.
