Motorist killed in accident named

A woman who died in a crash on the A386 in Devon has been named by police.

Maxine Jarvis, 45, was driving between Bassets Cross and Lamerton Cross, near Hatherleigh, when her vehicle came off the road on Thursday morning.

The mother-of-four, known as Max, lived in Hatherleigh. The police said no other vehicles were involved in the accident which happened at 0730 GMT.

The road was closed in both directions while police carried out investigations at the scene.
