Man discovered lying in road dies

A man in his fifties who was found on a road in Torquay suffering from head and arm injuries has died.

The man, who is believed by police to be local, was discovered on Temperance Street at at about 0940 GMT.

Paramedics treated him at the scene but he later died. Police are investigating how he received his injuries and how he came to be in the road.

The access road from Abbey Road into the multi-storey car park has been closed while inquiries are carried out.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
