Body discovered in bushes in town

The discovery of a body in bushes in a north Devon town is being investigated by police.

The body, thought to be that of a man, was found on Bear Street in Barnstaple on Wednesday afternoon.

Police closed the road between Bicton Street and Alexander Street and a forensic examination of the area was carried out.

Police said it appeared the body had been there for some time and that the cause of death was unexplained.
