Fire crews rescue five from flood

Five people were rescued by fire crews when their car was trapped in flood water in Devon in the early hours.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Bridge Reeve near Chulmleigh at about 0315 BST. No-one was injured.

Torrential rain caused a number of flooding incidents across Devon and Cornwall on Friday.

The Environment Agency has four flood warnings and 10 flood watches on rivers in Devon. There are none in Cornwall.

Two of the flood warnings are on the River Exe, one on the River Clyst and one on the River Yeo.
