Woman is jailed for benefit fraud

A woman from Devon has been jailed for eight months for benefit fraud.

Diane Marshall, a 44-year-old mother of three, pleaded guilty at Plymouth Crown Court to committing fraud totalling more than £30,000.

Marshall, of Merafield Drive, Plympton, was investigated by fraud inspectors after an anonymous tip off.

The court was told Marshall admitted making fraudulent claims for income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit.
