Man injured as car runs over tent

A man had to be taken to hospital on Saturday after his tent was run over by a car at a campsite in Devon.

The handbrake is thought to have failed on an Austin Mini which was parked at the top of a hill at the Ladram Bay Caravan Site at Budleigh Salterton.

The car rolled down the hill and over the tent before eventually colliding with the toilet block.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with suspected broken ribs.
