A man arrested after an explosion in a restaurant in Exeter is in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
Nicky Reilly, 22, suffered eye and facial injuries when an explosive device detonated at the Giraffe restaurant on Thursday.
He has not been formally interviewed by police officers, who are guarding him at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Police are also questioning two men detained by armed officers at the Bagatelle cafe in Plymouth on Friday.
One man was arrested while the other was described as "helping police".
Meanwhile, sources close to the investigation revealed police were aware of Mr Reilly prior to his arrest.
Bomb team
After Thursday's explosion it is understood that two further devices were recovered from the scene and made safe.
Police said Mr Reilly boarded a number X38 double-decker Stagecoach bus in Bretonside bus station, Plymouth, on Thursday morning and have appealed to passengers on the service to contact them.
Officers later revealed Mr Reilly had a history of mental illness.
Deputy Chief Constable Tony Melville said police believed he had adopted the Islamic faith and had been "preyed upon" and "radicalised".
A bomb disposal team arrived at Mr Reilly's home in the Stonehouse area of Plymouth at lunchtime on Friday and police investigations are continuing at the flat.
