Volunteers from the Thai community in Devon and Cornwall have been asked for their help in holding police video identity (ID) parades.
Police said the appeal was linked to an ongoing investigation where the suspects were Thai nationals from outside the force area.
Custody units are holding ID parades in Newquay, Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay.
Male and female volunteers aged between late 30s and early 50s are needed and will be paid £10 for taking part.
"All the filming entails is looking towards a camcorder, looking left and looking right," Insp Rod Munro said.
Filming will take place at Torquay Police Station between 0900 and 1500 BST every weekday until 25 April.
Anyone willing to take part is asked to call into their nearest police station.
