Strong winds bring down 60 trees

Winds brought down more than 60 trees across Devon, but there were no reports of injuries or structural damage.

Emergency crews were out from before first light inspecting damage around the Exeter and South Hams areas.

About 400 households in Starcross, Powderham and Kenton were without power for a time after a falling tree hit overhead power cables.

Another live cable was knocked down on a minor road at Stormsdown Cottage, Bickington.
