Man admits sex grooming charges

A Devon man has pleaded guilty to grooming under age girls for sex after a police sting operation in which officers posed as girls on the web.

Roger Kenneth Manning, 43, of Rivermead, Cullompton, pleaded guilty to one charge of arranging sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.

He also admitted two charges of inciting under age girls to sexual activity over the internet.

The three girls he had been talking to were in fact police officers.

Mr Manning was arrested in the car park of McDonald's in Torquay on Thursday.

Torbay Magistrates refused an application for bail and Mr Manning was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court.

He was also fined £100 and banned for a year on a charge of drink driving.
